Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you and your family are gearing up for a wonderful celebration.
While the Christmas and New Years Holiday season is the most enjoyable holiday season of the year, it can also be the most physically destructive. The two most destructive temptations of the season are sugar (including carbs) and alcohol. A little of each never hurt anyone, but sometimes, navigating through the Christmas Holiday Season among friends and relatives can become as hazardous as walking through a mine field.
Although a health-conscious focus can begin with the greatest of intensions, sometimes the happy, good cheer of friends and family can impose strong temptations that sometimes lead to overindulgences, that can seriously detract from your enjoyment of the festivities.
My advice would be to serve a healthy meal to family and friends, who may be expecting the traditional, stomach-challenging, health-counteracting, holiday fare. You will actually be doing them a favor by providing a meal that they will find to be surprisingly tasty and sending them home with a tank full of health-building nutrition.
The recipes, food-combining and preparation techniques incorporated into my Natural Health Science System (NHSS) Power Cooking are products of a long-term, widely varied clinical practice specializing in the use of whole, natural foods and herbs both as sustenance and as medicine. Each recipe, composed of natural and unadulterated foods, furnishes an impressive array of fiber and food nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, enzymes and other nutritional factors, required for the maintenance and repair of the body in a readily assimilable form.
Many years as a practitioner and teacher in the field of natural healing have brought me to the realization that, regardless of the obvious potential benefits derived from healthful eating, most people will not make the necessary revisions in their dietary pattern unless the process of change is made relatively simple and yields taste-gratification.
Here you can find three Power Cooking recipes that are easy-to-prepare, nutrition-rich and digestively balanced and can help to light the way to the path of healthful eating.
Healthful cooking, if it is to become a permanent feature of one’s daily existence rather than a transient whimsy, must meet several basic criteria, but, first and foremost, the meals must be truly healthful. Oftentimes, so-called health food recipes are merely haphazard juxtapositions of natural foods which are nutritious in and of themselves but prove incompatible with the human body’s assimilation abilities when taken in combinations that challenge digestive tolerance.
With this information, I hope you have a more enjoyable Holiday Season with fewer upsets, as well as being able to enjoy the good times without having to listen to your body complain about what you should have done instead of what you did.
Shalom,
Dr. Bruce
Member Updates
My heartfelt thank you to all of you who attended our final live class of the year on Tuesday!
We are now pausing live sessions for the holidays and will kick off again in the second week of February 2026.
Don’t worry—your learning won’t stop! You’ll still receive new member journal articles and valuable resources throughout the break.
Catch Up: If you missed them, the last two in-depth classes on Low Back, Sacral, and Hip Pain (covering Natural Health Science System and Spiritual PhytoEssencing protocols) are uploaded and ready for viewing in the Member Zone.
The first part provides rare insight into how to analyze your low back pain (i.e., where in the low back it is coming from and which trigger points and acupoint channels are involved), the different structural components of the low back and the integrated approach I have developed for my Natural Health Science System to resolve it.
We also discussed fascia. A lot of “back pain” is actually issues with the connective tissue. Unlike muscle pain, fascial pain actually feels better with movement and heat. This is why I love using Moxa—warming herbs like mugwort—to dispel cold and remove stagnation along the Bladder Meridian. You don’t need needles for this; you can use acupressure, a high-power infrared laser acupuncture or laser moxibustion device, or a Tiger Warmer on specific trigger points, or even use points on the hand like Ling Gu to treat the back.
In Part 2, we discuss low-back pain treatment using local and distal points and the construction of the SPE blend.
The Art of the Blend Part II: The Zen State Required For Soul-Level Blending

In Spiritual PhytoEssencing blending, the blender must operate from an inner point of Nothingness and Silence in to gain entry into the inner domain of the oils where the “divine sparks” are most concentrated.
Cannabis Pain Relief Salve

Learn about cannabis’ active ingredients and physiological actions. Type of cannabis suggested for homemade preparations. Unique cannabis salve to facilitate transdermal absorption and beneficial effects upon the skin.
Staying Healthy During The Long, Hot Summers

It is important to have a strategy for staying healthy during very hot weather, and how to respond to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. In this article series, you’ll find my integrative solutions using essential oils, nutriton, cell salts, hydrotherapies and modern wellness technologies.
In Part I, I provided an in-depth discussion of the detrimental impact upon human health of protracted periods of very hot weather. I followed with a description of my personal dietary pattern and additionally discussed the potential benefits deriving from the use of cayenne and unfiltered apple cider vinegar during hot weather.

Stem Cells Part I

Do you suffer from a chronic illness or an injury that has never completely healed? Are you scheduled for, or are recovering from, a surgery? Are you getting to an age where your recovery power is declining and it takes much longer for you to heal than when you were younger? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you will want to know about your body’s production of stem cells.
Spiritual PhytoEssencing Repertory of Essential Oils

Spiritual PhytoEssencing (SPE) Repertory of Essential Oils is a reference manual used help a blender identify potentially relevant essential oils for inclusion in a customized essential oil blend. The Repertory is an index of constitutional archetypes and qualities, reactional tendencies, mental, emotional and physical symptoms, dreams and more. All of these are categorically arranged in a highly organized way so that users can efficiently conduct their searches for relevant oils.
The process of oil selection begins with Repertory and ends with Berkowsky’s Synthesis Materia Medica/Spiritualis of Essential Oils. The Repertory and the Synthesis Materia Medica/Spiritualis of Essential Oils complement one another and in Spiritual PhytoEssencing are always used in concert.
