Hello Everyone,
Rhythm is one of the primary elements of human existence. In humans, balance must be established between left and right, above and below, Earth forces with cosmic forces, blood and nerves, the realm of the organic inner world with the realm of the outer world, and stillness and motion.
Wild plants and animals never abandon the inherent life-rhythm established through their millions of years of biological evolution. Modern human beings, due to their higher intellectual capacity and cultural and technological achievements, have developed a sense of superiority in relation to the rest of the animal kingdom that is part of their progressive estrangement from the natural world. Many people don’t even realize that the human race is an animal species. Instead of the traditional biological dichotomy of plant kingdom and animal kingdom, they believe in a separate, human kingdom. Many components of modern human society, including allopathic medicine, foster the delusion that the human species, alone among all species, can live healthfully outside the bounds of the Laws of Nature and the rhythmic imperative of the natural world.
Accordingly, most people eat whatever they want (e.g., ice cream in winter and barbecued meat on hot summer days; cheeseburger for breakfast and processed cereal for dinner; stimulating soft drinks brimming with refined sugar and caffeine throughout the day) and whenever they want it (e.g. fat and sugar-laden food and caffeinated beverages late at night). They awaken early or late, go to sleep in the wee hours of morning, sometimes get only three hours sleep, other times sleep half the day or never reserve time to rest; on other hand, they become committed couch potatoes, etc.
This type of lifestyle dysrhythmia is becoming the rule rather than the exception. When I was a boy growing up in the 1950s, my mother served us breakfast, lunch and dinner at the same times every day. We were awakened at the same time each morning and sent off to bed at the same time each evening.
That type of order is now viewed as a constrictive anachronism. The impulse to do whatever you want, whenever you want has been transformed from being viewed as a lack of self-discipline into an inalienable right. Thus, a dysrhythmic life-rhythm is seen as being an expression of emancipation rather than one of the most fundamental causative factors in the development of disease.
The first step that must be taken along the pathway to true wellness is the establishment of a rhythmic lifestyle pattern.
My Daily Schedule
Rhythmicity is one of the central features of my daily life, and has been for many years.
In this reference, I get up the same time each morning (6:30 a.m.). I work until 8:45 a.m. during which time, I drink at least a quart of distilled water. Then, I have a pre-workout snack (apple, seasonal fruit, chia seeds and coconut milk powder) just before a 45 minute workout beginning at 10:00 a.m. (consisting of my Oxy-Vital Style Chi Kung exercises performed outdoors, followed by a cardio-focused rowing machine session).

This is followed by Vital Chi Skin-Brushing and hydrotherapy. Then on to breakfast. After allowing some time for good digestion, I go back to work until I take time for lunch at around 2:30 p.m. Then back to work until 5 p.m. Followed by some time outside walking, tending the garden and other chores, etc. Dinner is eaten at 6:30 p.m., followed by evening relaxation. Into bed every night around 10 p.m.
Not only does my schedule never vary, but either does my dietary pattern. I eat the same type of things each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast consists of fruit, coconut and nuts or seeds. Lunch is comprised of apple, seasonal fruit, chia seed and raw cacao. Dinner features raw vegetables, steamed vegetables and either eggs, or lentils, or tempeh, or avocadoes and seeds, or brown rice and seeds.
One of the most basic mistakes people make in their dietary patterns is the idea that so long as you are eating foods that are “good for you,” it does not matter when, or what combinations, you eat them. So, one morning for breakfast the person may have oatmeal, the next morning – eggs, and the next morning – perhaps a protein drink, and the next, being in a rush – just a cup of coffee. Lunch may be at 11 a.m. on some days, at 1 p.m. on others, or not at all, if it is a very busy day. Dinner is often a potluck affair consisting of whatever is leftover from the night before, mixed with some random odds and ends, or much worse, some fast food picked up on the way home from work.
It is crucial that one establishes a set dietary pattern that varies only within specific parameters. For instance, I may have eggs or lentils with vegetables at dinner, but I will not have fruit and cacao. It is perfectly fine for a diet to have a rotational pattern, but that pattern should be rhythmic as well.
The Body’s Rhythmic System
Rhythm makes possible the harmonizing and transitioning between the upper (nerve-sense system, consisting of the brain and nervous system) and lower pole (metabolic-limb system, consisting of the abdominal organs and limbs) of the body. The upper pole is responsible for thought, and the lower pole for will. The rhythmic system mediates between thought and will via the offices of feeling.
The rhythmic transitions between sleeping and waking, rest and activity, the physical activity of daytime and the activity of the spirit body in dreaming, warmth and cold, light and darkness, ovulation and menstruation, etc. are linked to the rotation of the Earth on its axis and its movements in relation to the sun and moon. Any disturbance of rhythmicity in the human being must be partly related to an imbalance between the organism and Earth.
Human life is dependent upon the presence of certain fundamental conditions: proper diet; pure water; fresh air; sunlight; adequate exercise, warmth, rest and sleep; emotional harmony; proper posture.
As a human being, you have an inherent relationship with these fundamental elements—susceptibility to disease is primarily an outgrowth of a deficiency or excess of one or more of them. Restoration of health in the ill person is accomplished through the same means of sustaining life and preserving health in the well person.
If said fundamental elements are not restored, surgery and drugs (even natural medicines such as herbs and homeopathy) can only act upon the superficial symptoms of the underlying disharmony which, if left unresolved, may eventually manifest in some other, and perhaps more threatening, form.
Remember to eat healthfully, and exercise and meditate daily. Slow and deepen your breathing. Move through daily life mindfully. Self-discipline is one of the primary factors in achieving wellness and attaining wholeness of being.

SPE Polarity Balancing Blend

The human organism, like all living organisms, is a body electric. It is always best to first balance the body’s bioelectric polarity before employing a specific healing technique such as acupressure, moxa, a chiropractic adjustment, an essential oil blend, a homeopathic remedy, etc. NHSS General Polarity Test shows the method that I have developed for balancing the body’s general bioelectric field. The SPE Polarity Balancer Blend is used for general polarity balancing.
